At the Guild

So how much fun was guild today! So many thanks to all the teachers who gave so much of themselves! Thanks too to all the kind people who fussed over my lace!

As to books here's some of the books I mentioned at guild...

Heirloom Knitting - this is written by Sharon Miller out of the UK. I use this book about everyday. It's pricey, but I think it's worth it. I think Brook and Susie over at the Kirkwood Knittery have one copy over at the shop, otherwise you'll have to order off the Heirloom Knitting website. I think I heard rumors too that Meg over at Schoolhouse Press has them in stock.

Nancy Bush's Estonian Lace book - just out. It has some really beautiful projects, and there's something for every skill level. My problem with the book came with the idea of having to sew on a border. Not one of my favorite things to do. I did have fun learning to bead with the free download from Knitting Daily (good only thru December), but I won't be doing the crocheted on bead thing for quite a while.

Seaman's Scarves and Shawls by Myrna Stahman - I've had this one for a couple of years and it definitly gets my vote as a wonderful book, that also doubles as a pattern library! Again there's something for all skill levels here.

Victorian Lace Knitting - by Jane Sowerby - love this book. Although the projects are lovely there is a wealth of information in the back of the book on construction and designing!

Knitting Lace Triangles by Evelyn Clark - I just picked up this little gem and I love it! But make sure when you're ready to start you have the needles in your hands. It makes everything so much easier!
